Hello!
A message from your new Interim Principal
Dear Heritage Community,
My name is Megan Sutton and I will be the Interim Principal at Heritage Primary beginning in January. Currently, I am the Assistant Principal at Crossroads Elementary and have been in that role for two and a half years. Some of you may know me from my previous role as a Kindergarten Teacher at Heritage from 2006-2016. As Principal, I will work with dedication to achieve the goals of the district and the building. I look forward to building new relationships with families I have not yet met and continuing with the relationships I already have in place.
Before becoming an administrator, I thoroughly enjoyed my time teaching at Heritage. I am confident that my education, along with my years of teaching and leadership experience, will serve me well as I move into the role of Interim Principal at Heritage Primary. I have a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and am currently seeking my Doctorate in Educational Administration. As a leader, I put students first. I am passionate about education and will work to build positive relationships with the students, staff, parents, and other members of the community. I maintain high expectations of the staff and students when it comes to teaching and learning, and I hold myself to the highest standards of a professional in education.
In addition to my passion for education, I also enjoy my time away from school. My husband, John and I have been married for twelve years and we have two children. Our son, Talon is in third grade and our daughter, Piper is in Kindergarten at Crossroads Elementary. We enjoy spending time playing board games, attending dance, soccer and baseball practices as well as visiting local attractions on the weekends. I am thrilled to return to Heritage Primary and very proud to continue to work for this amazing, growing district.
I believe education is a partnership between home and school to develop the whole child: intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. As a positive and proactive leader, I will work with students, staff, and parents to ensure we provide a learning environment where every child will learn and grow.
I look forward to learning more about you and your family at our next PTA Meeting on Thursday, December 13th at 4:00 in the Heritage Library. I hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
Megan Sutton
