Morton's Musings

Communication for the week of November 16, 2015

A huge thank you to the parents who have donated snacks the last few months.

Since the kiddos are maturing and are not seeming as hungry in the afternoon, I am making a change in my snack policy. From now on, parents may provide a daily snack for their child, and only their child, in small zip lock baggie. They may eat it in the afternoon during a time I provide. If your child does not have a snack, and is hungry, I will provide them with two saltine crackers.

I am no longer asking for donations for snack.

Please contact me with any questions regarding this change.

Phonics skills:

This week we are practicing the long u, soft g and long e sounds.

Comprehension skills: Author's Purpose: When reading ask your child questions about why they think the author wrote the text or a word. Here are some good questions to ask: Why did the author write this, to entertain you or to give you information? That word or sentence is silly, why would the author choose to write that way?
