Announcements

Thank you:

Social and Wellness Committees for planning some great activities for our staff! While it is tough to find time outside of school for activities, they really do help build staff morale and team unity.

All staff for your professionalism with our safety drills. It is a very nerve racking topic to think about and discuss but I have full confidence in each and every one of you that in the heat of the moment you will make the best decisions possible! I have this faith because I see how much you care for your students on a daily basis and how natural it comes to you!

Reminders:

We will have all three safety drills this week, tornado, fire and lockdown/evacuate/intruder. Remember to have conversations with your students regarding these drills and that what we practice might not be what happens in a real situation.

SAFETY DRILL HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 10:00 AM.

Constitution Day is Thursday, an email was sent with resources. Please address this day somehow in your classrooms. Feel free to invite me into your room if you are doing an activity you would like to share.

Birthday invitations are not to be distributed during school by teachers or students. If you are asked to do this, please reference our student/parent handbook, "Invitations - Please do not send party invitations to school to be distributed." Please put this reminder in any newsletters you may send home or on your website.

Per the student/parent handbook, NO electronic devices should be out any point during the day, this includes indoor recess. Please remind your students of this policy and again if you could add it to your class newsletters as you see fit.

Words of Wisdom and Action..............................

Here is #3 from Jon Gordon on the Power of a Positive Educator. What a great way to end the day, could be an exit slip for feedback, too!

3. Celebrate Success – One of the simplest, most powerful things you can do for yourself and your students is to celebrate your daily successes. Instead of thinking of all things that went wrong at school each day focus on the one thing that went right. Try this: Each night before you go to bed think about the one great thing about your day. If you do this you’ll look forward to creating more success tomorrow. Also have your students do this as well. Each night they will go to bed feeling like a success and they will wake up with more confidence to take on the day.
