Welcome back to preschool! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday break and are ready for the new year. I missed each and every one of your sweet kiddos and can't wait to dive back into learning. I'm excited to hear from all the kids about what they did over break. I enjoyed spending time with my children, husband and my parents over the last 2 weeks. we enjoyed a visit to the Boise Aquarium, we played lots of games and we just spent time hanging out. I cherish every moment I get to spend with my family. I wanted to say thank you for all the thoughtful gifts and Christmas cards. They truly warmed my heart.
December flew by in the classroom. We were busy learning and building friendships. We read a lot of books about Christmas and talked about what our Christmas wishes were. We made art and messes and laughed a lot. I can tell you that most the your kiddos have very ticklish feet. Every one of them giggled when I painted their feet and it made me smile. We played outside as much as we could but brrrrr it was a cold month. We continued to work on writing our names. The kids love using the sand to practice in. Our little Christmas party was a lot of fun. We watched a Pooh Christmas movie and just played all day.
This month is going to be awesome. As I was working on my lesson plans I was getting so excited for all the winter books I have to read to the kids. We are going to continue working on writing our names. We will work on both writing our name in the sand and also on paper. In doing this I will be helping them with pencil grip and feeling comfortable putting pencil to paper. I can see that some of them have been practicing at home as well. We are going to be sorting and classifying objects this month and talking about differences we notice between objects. Its going to be a fun cold month so bundle your kiddos up and send them ready to play and explore.
Now for the best part!!! Pictures!!!
