Policies at Small
If you see a student with food in any area of the building where they should not have it, please address it with the student. Please train students to use the Zero Waste Receptacles appropriately. Students who eat lunch in other areas of the building should use the ZW receptacles, NOT the classroom trash cans. The CSMS Custodial Staff understands emptying the ZW receptacles is part of their daily run duties. No food should be left in the containers over the weekend. We received a grant to fund the Zero Waste containers with the prototype made by Ella Garcia. This also funds the bags. Please train students (and adults)- it's Landfill on the Left, Compost in the Center, and Recycling on the Right.
If a student is using a phone outside the BYOD policy, please address it with the student. If warranted, turn the device into Jennifer Newell in the office.
It takes our entire team of faculty, staff, and admin to enforce policies consistently. Working together we can change behavior and it do it in a respectful manner that educates the child.
