Reminder!
Schoolwide Fundraiser for ALL students/grade levels!!! YOUR Participation is simple. Just create a pop-up store for your student on the Double Good (DG) website or app. Send your child's pop-up store link out to people you know or anyone interested in supporting. Your job is done! The purchaser will order and pay for their popcorn through Double Good and DG will ship the popcorn to the purchaser. If they are not interested in purchasing popcorn, DG offers a financial donation option, instead.
Fundraiser starts on Wednesday, Feb. 29th at 7pm and ends Monday, March 4th at 7pm. Purchases or financial donations can only be made during this timeframe. You can create your student’s pop-up store NOW so that you'll be ready to share the link when the fundraiser starts. You can create your pop-up store at ANY point during the fundraiser timeframe, but we encourage you to start on day one!
- Every student with at least one purchase or donation receives a Unity ticket.
- Prizes will be given to students for fundraising certain amounts:
- Level 1 Prize - $132
- Level 2 Prize - $297
- Level 3 Prize - $600 or more
- Competition: The TOP two fundraising classes will receive a pizza party (food accommodations will be made as needed). Note: class must earn a minimum of $200 to qualify.
Proceeds will help the PTA provide the following:
- Enrichment activities for students.
- Award/acknowledgment gifts to students.
- End of the school year dance or family social event.
- School supplies or other financial support to TJE student/families.
- Bridge the gap between public funds and actual expenses.
See the DG flyer for details of how to create a pop-up store, be sure to use our fundraiser code POMNSV.

A Message From Nurse Spence
As we start getting into the heart of the winter months COVID, Flu, and Strep cases are on the rise. Please be sure to keep your student’s home if they have signs and symptoms of illness such as fever (100.0) or greater, vomiting or diarrhea, and excessive coughing.
We now have telehealth services in the school clinic. You can register now (see flyer) and then if your student comes to the clinic we can call and let parents know that we recommend a telehealth visit.
Parents are included in the video chat with the Provider, and we have the ability to do Flu, Strep, and COVID tests right here at school. Any antibiotics, or other prescriptions, can be called into the pharmacy of your choice. This eliminates the need for parents to take more time off work to see a physician and sit in crowded waiting rooms waiting for an appointment. The telehealth appointments are immediate and usually only a 5 min wait or less. The cost for students on Medicaid is free, private insurance is your primary doctor co pay fee, uninsured is $50.
The parents that have used the service already have been very happy with the results and outcomes. Sign up now and be ready when you need it! If you have any questions feel free to call the school clinic 817-299-6950.
Stay Healthy,
Nurse Spence
In The Know at TJE...
Visitors:
o must present a government issued ID outside building to AI camera.
o asked about the purpose of their visit (a valid business reason must be given).
o must be run thru Raptor.
o Given sticker badge that must be adhered to clothing before allowed to leave office
Party invitations will only be passed out to the whole class or for girl/boy specific parties. Our goal is to never make students feel excluded. This is our practice at Thelma Jones. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to Mrs. Rhines.
You may send treat bags for your student's birthday. Treat bags will be passed out at the end of the day and sent home with students. Ideas for treat bags include: stickers, pencils, small party favors, and wrapped candy. You may not bring food for your student's birthday. Things like cupcakes and cookies will not be accepted.
When having lunch with your student, please be mindful that you may only eat with your student in the designated area. I know it's nice to meet your child's friends, but we are not allowed to put other students in your care without parent permission. Once lunch is over, you will need to checkout in the front. No visitors on the playground.
