Sunday Youth Nites - Parents Asked! We Listened!
So we've listened! This year we've taken the Diocesan Curriculum and instead of dividing up by age or grade we will be dividing our teens by LEARNING STYLES. This first couple of weeks will be an opportunity for teens to identify their own personality and learning styles and then we will divide into these learning groups: visual, auditory, reading/writing and kinesthetic.
We are keeping close adherence to the Diocesan Curriculum, just adding or augmenting to the way that we involve teens in learning. Our Sunday Nite Adult Leaders the learning topic, consult the chapters in either Catholic Connections and The Catholic Faith Handbook and focus their lesson on the exercises, activities and discussions in their learning style.
Here's who will be leading each session:
Visual: Kristen Manwaring and Colleen Tantello
Auditory: Aimee O'Connell and Lisa Carozzi
Reading/Writing: Joe Gambino and Barb Legere
Kinesthetic: Jack Reifsteck and Jacob Black.
In the next two weeks our teens will identify and choose their preferences but we want them to explore all the ways that they learn and encourage them to pray in different ways as well. Each teen will set their preferences and then they will be in a Learning Style for FOUR REGULAR MEETINGS. Then they'll switch to their 2nd preference and so on throughout the year.
One special note is that the Auditory Style will have a special emphasis on prayer. The topic will be the same as for all the sessions but it will be through the lens of prayer so that our teens begin to develop their own and preferred ways of communicating with God.

Sacrament of Confirmation Information Session Sunday September 29th
Information Session for youth and parents this Sunday, September 15 at 12:30 pm in the Parish Center,
OR if this date does not work Sunday, September 29, 12:30 pm in the Parish Center.
To prepare for a Sacramental Celebration at St. Pius X the candidate needs to have foundational catechesis; if you have not registered your child in one of our Faith Formation/Youth Ministry Programs and your child does not go to a Catholic School I invite you to use the link below to register for this year’s Faith Formation/Youth Ministry.

The preparation to celebrate Confirmation is a 2-year process
with “prerequisites” to complete during the two school years before registering for Immediate Confirmation Preparation.
Some of these “prerequisites” are done separately from the regular catechetical programs that the young person is enrolled in,
either in one of our Faith Formation/Youth Ministry Programs or as a student in a Catholic School.
We waive the fee the Confirmation Prerequisite Process since you are registered in St. Pius X Faith Formation/Youth Ministry Programs,
because the registration fee helps pay for some of the components in the Prerequisite Program.
