Opportunity to Provide Feedback
If you haven't had a chance to provide me feedback in this seven question survey, you may still do so by clicking the link at the end of this message. The analytics say that most people have been able to complete the survey in two minutes. Thank you for helping me reflect, learn, and grow.
The Amazing Race
Thank you to Vanessa, Lisa, Kristina and others who planned, organized, executed, and participated in The Amazing Race. It was great fun learning about Hopkins and the surrounding area and each other. Thank you to Kay for hosting the before and after gatherings. I've already heard folks excited for the next Amazing Race!
Literacy Walkthroughs
Jill and I are conducting literacy walk-throughs this week to every K-6th grade classroom. We're looking at the implementation of the new curriculum and seeing if there are components that we're really rocking and if there are areas that more professional development would help with. Only Jill and I will be looking at this information. There will be no notes taken, just a checklist Jill and I will work on together after the walk-throughs. We will be visiting classes today, Monday, November 12, from 10:00-3:00 and Wednesday, November 14, from 10:15-11:40.
World Kindness Day
Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 13, 2018, is World Kindness Day. We'll be having an all-school assembly planned by our PBIS Team at 3:00 in the gym. We will sing our school song, recognize our September and October Citizens of the Month, be introduced to a school-wide kindness challenge, and have Wacky Tacky contests for students and staff.
Starbase
Because of limited options, this year our 5th graders will be attending Starbase November 26-30, 2018. One of the requirements is that the principal attend one of the days. I'm planning to attend Wednesday, November 28, 2018.
ExploraDome
The background photo is one I captured during a private preview I received when the ExploraDome was here. What a great opportunity for our 3rd and 5th graders.
My Schedule
This week I will be out on Wednesday, November 14 from 1:00-4:00 at a Learning & Leadership meeting convened by the Superintendent. I'll also be out on Friday, November 16, from 1:00-3:00 attending a MESPA West Suburban Division Meeting in the Bloomington School District.
Restorative Culture Work With Marius Massie
Marius Massie will be back to work with us on our Restorative Culture journey on December 6th and he wanted me to remind you that he's looking forward to hearing your stories of impact the next time we meet. Thank you!
