Principal's Message
Dear MPE Family,
A huge thank you to our wonderful PTA for all the special treats for Teacher Appreciation Week!
Please respond to the class placement survey below if you have pertinent information to share!
Thanks to all who made our Color Run, Teacher Appreciation and last PTA meeting such successful events.
Thank you to our MPE Student Council for working with the PTA to make sure the teachers felt appreciated.
Nurse Cullen's last official day was May 5. We wish her the best. We are actively interviewing for her replacement. We are going to hire a care, outstanding school nurse.
Our fifth grade moving up ceremony is quickly approaching and will be on June 15th. Our Kindergarten moving up ceremony is June 13th. Each student is allowed a maximum of 4 guests for the Moving Up Ceremonies.
Field Day is May 24th. The PTA will be requesting volunteers and we will have a Zoom meeting on May 22nd at 7pm for our volunteers. Check out the MPE PTA toolkit for details.
The Board of Education meeting on May 15 will honor our MPE teacher of the year, Mrs. Triana! Congratulations to Mrs. Triana, grade 4 teacher. Come out to support her!

Testing Information
Our 4th and 5th graders will be taking the NJSLA on Monday, May 15. Fifth graders will be taking the Science NJSLA on May 16 and 17th.
Be sure to charge the chromebooks, bring in wired headphones (if you would like), and be on time to school. It is important to get a good night's sleep.

GT ART and GT Music Applications for 2023-2024
Dear Parents:
We are excited to announce that the application window is now open to express interest in both our Elementary Gifted and Talented Art Program and Gifted and Talented Music Program.
These programs are for students who will be entering grades 4 and 5 in the 2023-2024 school year.
Students previously enrolled in either GT Art and/or GT Music do not need to reapply.
All applications must be submitted electronically no later than Thursday, May 25, 2023.

Congratulations Kyra!
Kyra Kaul, 5th grade student in Mrs. Carlin's class has played the US-open for squash , an international tournament, where she competed against highly ranked players from other countries and ranked 36th in the tournament!
More recently she participated in the US Premier Junior Squash Championship where she has distinguished herself as an elite player of national standing .
What an amazing accomplishment! Way to go Kyra!
