Look up, study, and “play” with the following words. Have your parents quiz you over them! To receive credit, have your parents email me or send a note by Thursday that you have completed this assignment. Have fun!!
Character Traits: Letter Q or R! Remember the trait list can be accessed from the website...click on the Reading Tab---Support the trait with 3 details from the story that support the character trait word followed by a synonym.

Download the doc. that lists the unit 1 roots, meanings, and exemplars. Complete Unit 1 worksheet.
We are focusing this week on Columbus...the good and not so good things he did and then moving to the Spanish Explorers who set foot in Texas.
I LOVE how much the kids LOVE history!
We are busy ecologists studying our schoolyard and environmental factors that affect plant and animal life. We've discovered that human activity and lack of moisture play an important role here!
Next week...our ecosystems! Thank you for the donations and let me know if you would like to help us as I do NOT do earthworms or crickets!!!

Mrs. Reim's Scientists...making ecosystems in a bottle! Please help by signing up!
Mrs. Wells' The Explorer Regatta...make a boat and sail it!Start saving plastic bottles and aluminum cans for our recycled ship project that accompanies the explorer unit. (rubber bands, styrofoam, etc.) anything that can float and is NOT bigger than a shoe box. (Believe me, I have had some mega-liners)! Actually, all their recycled supplies for their ship need to fit inside a shoe box.
I will explain this project as it gets closer. Fun times:)
