A Principal's Perspective
From a staff member: "I am just so honored to be a part of the best elementary school. I have never felt more included and loved by a school and I am so grateful for each and every one of you."
The above comment speaks volumes about our staff! Each and every day we work together to fulfill our school mission. One key component of our mission is family. We all enjoy a positive school culture where it is a joy to come to work to fulfill not only our school mission but our purpose in teaching. Our collective passion for teaching makes our school a special one for our students and for our staff. As I tell interview candidates, it takes all 80 staff members to create a positive place to teach and work. Tonight is a great night to not only celebrate a successful year, but it is an opportunity to continue to build our school family culture by celebrating, meeting our families and enjoying the camaraderie and fellowship with one another. I hope that you will join us at the Saddle Creek Pavilion tonight from 6:00-9:00 even if for a short time. The Fire Crepe Truck will be serving dinner. Dinner will be provided for each staff member by the Social Committee! Snow Cones will be complimentary for everyone. Swimming and games will be available. All family members are invited. Thank you Social Committee for hosting a wonderful evening!
Be innovative - Design the possibilities!

News & Notes
- From Nicole, Tech Coordinator for GP:
- Technology for the Summer: Please leave all computers on this summer for updates. Also turn off projectors.
- Nicole is labeling all the student computers right now with the computer's name. 3rd and 4th grade have been relabeled and cleaned up as well. I will be moving kinder POD computers in the first week of summer school. I have checked and Kinder will not be using the computers. All computers and projectors will be cleaned. Looking at replacing a lot of the projectors since they are 7 years old and going out fast, only good for five years. Once these POD's are in the correct spots, we cannot have anyone move the tables or unhook the computers. If a table is moved to do carpet it will pull cables from other tables. Everything is velcroed together in other words.
Tables: If you have any white portable tables that are stored in the cafeteria storage closet, please make sure they are returned to the closet. We will be taking an inventory of the white tables. We were short tables during the rodeo. We have purchased plenty of tables so that we are not short on quantity. Thus, we need to collect all tables to inventory our count. If you need a white table, please check out tables with Casey.
Author: We have the unique and special opportunity of having John Erickson, author of the Hank the Cowdog series, come to GP to talk with our 1st-4th grade students. The George Bush Library is providing this opportunity. This is exciting because normally we would not be able to afford John Erickson to come to GP. He will be coming to campus next Tuesday. We will start at 2:00 in the cafeteria. Each student and staff member will receive a book as well. He is a great speaker and will be motivating to encourage our students to read over the summer.
Field Day: As a staff we all participate in Field Day. Appropriate length shorts are good to wear on field day. Classroom teachers and staff will be cheering and encouraging their class during field day events.
