"Defending our Assessment Practices"
Why are you participating in the assessments that you use with students?
I'm participating in the assessment with student to find out their individual needs. Assessing each student allows teacher to prepare students, meet their educational needs and to set goals for students to achieve.
Can you share in explicit detail the value that you find in each assessment?
During each assessment with students I'm able to lay the foundation for me to see what are they have mastered and the area's that need more work. With each assessment I'm able to pull information to design a plan according to each individual students needs. I
Do you participate in assessments that you find no value in for students?
The assessments that are conducting takes place forty-five days after enrollment. Studetns are given an individual screening called the Brigance Screening. This screening for our headstart program is valuable. Its allows teachers and parents to visually see the area of need for students. Goals are then set based upon assessments results. After a peried of time, students are re-assessed to make sure they have achieved their goals.
Are you using an assessment you have no idea how to deliver, but are afraid to ask for help with? (Lopez, 2013, pg. 97).
I'm able to deliver the assessment, my only concern is using this assessment with a student and they master everything. We are not able to use any other assessment to build upon their knowledge.
