Staff Newsletter (emailed every 2nd & 4th week)
Lee Open House ~ Wednesday, April 6th ~ 6:00-7:00
Make plans to attend! This year's theme is "Deep in the Heart of Learning!" Henry has once again taken an idea and surpassed the expectations. The flyer, which he designed, will be sent home this week in the Wednesday Take Home Folder. Thank you, Kinder team for catching the discrepancy in the date on the previous newsletter. This is a time to showcase what your students have learned. Set out portfolios and journals and/or set out a writing project that describes the child. There are great ideas on Pinterest: a classroom scavenger hunt, student-led conversation, and more! Student work in the hallway should also be current. Remind parents and students to visit our support staff!

Formative Assessment using Plickers Step 1
A word problem is displayed on the board. The skill that is being learned is embedded in the word problem. The answers are provided as option choices.
Formative Assessment using Plickers Step 2
The teacher provides time and allows the student to work it out independently. This could also be done in the math journal.
Formative Assessment using Plickers Step 3
Once finished, the student chooses an answer choice. Instantly, it is recorded and the teacher knows the students that need intervening and scaffolding.
