From the District Administrator's Office

We conducted our School District Annual this past Wednesday evening. Thank you to the residents that attended. In addition to the featured business of presenting and ultimately approving the levy amount for the 2015-16 school year, we also had a very special presentation.

Very few school districts can boast of having two Hall of Fame Coaches. Here at Flambeau, we do. Current school board member, Darrell Gago is a member of the Wisconsin Football Coaches Hall of Fame, and last month, Ted Alberson, was inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame. In a presentation at the Annual Meeting, Darrell presented to Ted the Hall of Fame plaque that will be displayed here at the school. This was a special moment having these two gentlemen together celebrating the contribution they have made to the students of the School District of Flambeau.

I am also pleased to share with you, that at the regular School Board meeting, also held on Wednesday evening, the Board voted to extend my contract with the District through the 2016-17 school year.

I am very excited to be given the opportunity to be able to continue to work with everyone here in Flambeau. I feel very fortunate I am able to be a part of such a terrific place. I am thrilled we will be able to continue to plan and grow together. I am looking forward to our journey.

From the Elementary Principal's Office

A huge THANK YOU goes out to our entire community for supporting our book fair by donating loose change that purchased books for the Time Out Shelter, and for purchasing $3,776 in books! Your generosity will put $2,038 worth of new books into our library and classrooms for our teachers and students to use and enjoy! Another huge THANK YOU goes out to those who purchased books off the Teacher Wish List—teachers were very excited and appreciate your thoughtfulness! A special THANK YOU to Amber Hartman our Fall Book Fair volunteer. We appreciate all the hours you put in making the book fair a great success!

From the Middle School/High School Principal's Office

We have much to take pride in over these past couple of weeks! Our sports teams have realized much success, and our Choir department put on a wonderful program this week.

Congratulations goes out to our football and cross country teams who will be advancing to the next level. We look forward to seeing you in action! Also, congratulations to our volleyball team, who finished their season strong at regionals. Lastly, I observed our [very impressive] swim team, who won their conference meet!

Mrs. Leonhard hosted this year's first big choir concert. Our Middle School and High School programs did a wonderful job, with rave reviews on their performances. I look forward to seeing them grow over this school year.

Nice job all!

From The Athletic Director's Office

As I write this Our football team is preparing for a big playoff game in Pepin and tonight will be our first Middle School basketball game. Not only are the leaves changing but also the sport seasons. I want to thank all the players, coaches, parents, and fans for a great start to the season.

On a very personal note I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for all the support in not only the last few weeks but the last thirty years. Once again I can only emphasize how proud I am to be from here and how proud I am of our district and our residents.

--Mr. Alberson

Flambeau Annual Meeting

Thank you to everyone who attended the Annual Meeting on Wednesday, October 21st. We received some wonderful input and suggestions from community members. Another highlight of the meeting was the presentation of a plaque for Mr. Alberson's Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame induction. The plaque was presented by Wisconsin Football Coaches Hall of Fame Inductee and Board Member, Darrell Gago.
