BA Organizational Management
A little bit about me...
I am a happily married military wife and a mother of four children; my older two children are pursuing degrees in Media Arts and Game Design. My youngest two children are teenagers in high school. Although, I will be turning 41 soon my oldest son felt it was time for me to throw in the towel of my claims of being 29 again—this is what happens when your kids become grown. I have arrived to my final three classes and very excited to be a part of the 2015 Spring Commencement. As I reflect, back to when I first joined Ashford University I had butterflies in my stomach for the first five classes; however, each class helped me develop into the scholar and professional I am today. I value my educational journey with Ashford University and I plan to pursue my Master’s Degree I adopted the old adage-- learning never stops. My career path went from customer service to corporate executive as a professional development specialist, which was quite a journey. Life lessons has taught me to become more marketable in a competitive workforce employers look for two things experience and education. This was motivation for me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management. I have goals to become an entrepreneur and I am currently in the process of developing a business plan to open a non-profit organization designed to meet the needs of the community; provide youth development services, and promote educational advancement opportunities for disadvantaged residents to help make this world a better place. It was essential for me to network with like-minded individual’s to support my educational journey. The online experience takes a commitment to excellence, endurance, and these efforts will pay off as one of my greatest accomplishments. I am honored to be a CHAMP Mentor and I look forward to being a tool for success in helping Ashford Students as they venture into their educational journey here at Ashford University.
