After School Playground Rules

  1. Biker/walkers cannot enter the playground after school unless a parent or guardian is present at all times. Otherwise, students must walk/bike home immediately after school while crossing guard is on duty.
  2. Please do not re-enter building for restroom or to retrieve forgotten items.
  3. Please do not climb on fences, basketball poles, or soccer goal and nets.
  4. Please do not dig holes.
  5. Please no dogs on the playground.

AM & PM Car Rider Line

Please remain to the side of the shoulder on Crownridge for both morning and afternoon car rider line. This will allow access to the parking lot for cars that are not dropping off students.

In the morning, buses are having difficulty getting through the car line and being able to get children to school.

Please also remember that during morning drop off and afternoon pick up, the exit from the school is a right turn only.

Lost & Found Items

All lost items are located in the gym/cafeteria. Please remind your child to take a look for any missing items. All items not claimed will be donated during Spring Break.

Afternoon Transportation Changes

If you are changing your Bobcat’s transportation for dismissal, you may do so in one of three ways:

  1. Write a note, put it in your child’s folder for the teacher
  2. E-mail bush@conroeisd.net
  3. Fax (936) 709-1699

The e-mail or fax need to be received by Bush before 2:30 PM. This allows us necessary time to deliver all requests to the classrooms.

Random Acts of Kindness Week & Food Drive February 18th-21st

During the month of February, we focus on the character trait of kindness. We also celebrate Random Acts of Kindness week! So all students in grades Kinder through 4th had a counseling lesson on Kindness during their library time this month.

The lesson centered on the book I Walk With Vanessa by Kerascoët.

This story is about a simple act of kindness and so much more. Students learned about empathy, courage and how to be an Upstander. Students even helped tell the story by using their observation and inferencing skills to read this picture book. Noticing the characters facial expressions and body language, we discussed the importance of nonverbal communication and "soft skills." So much to learn in this simple story!

I Walk With Vanessa was a great book to introduce our theme for Random Acts of Kindness Week, "Be the I in KIND." We will celebrate RAK week February 18th -21st. During this week, we encourage students to perform simple acts to spread kindness in our school and community.

In addition to spreading kindness, Bush Elementary will be participating in a food drive to support “Matthew’s Birthday Wish”. Matthew Reel is a student in CISD, that currently supports close to 100 families in our school district by providing needed meals. Click here for more information on Matthew’s Birthday Wish. We will be collecting non-perishable items February 18-21. Items may be dropped off in the collection bins located in the Bush Elementary lobby.

“No act of kindness, no matter how small is ever wasted.” - Aesop

Junior Achievement Program

Each year, Bush Elementary participates in the Junior Achievement Program by having parent volunteers teach our students the JA grade level curriculum. Volunteers will need to attend one of two JA training sessions on either Wednesday, February 26th at 1 pm or Thursday, Feb. 27th at 9:30 am. (If the parent volunteer has previously attended training, they do not need to attend. Third grade is an exception, as all 3rd grade volunteers will need to be trained on the new curriculum).
