A Message from the Principal
With warmer weather officially here, many children will begin riding their bike to school. If you have not already done so, we encourage all families to read this joint letter from Dr. Kocanda and Chief Hornstein of the Winnetka PD.
The letter also includes a link to a Bike Safety Pledge that all Greeley Students are invited to take part in. Children that return a signed pledge to the school will receive a reflective sticker for their bike, safety gear, etc.
In other news, we are looking forward to our 1st and 2nd grade Spring Sings this coming Thursday. Specific times are detailed in the calendar at the end of this email.
Lastly, thank you to our PTO and Greeley families for displaying such profound kindness last week for Teacher Appreciation. From breakfast and other treats to personalized notes and more, we are humbled by your generosity. We appreciate our families as well and are thankful for our continued partnership in providing students with meaningful learning experiences.
Wishing you all continued warmth and fresh spring air,
Joshua Swanner
Principal

MAP Testing- Grades 3-8
Our third testing window for the Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) test is between May 9- May 20th. Your child’s school or teacher will inform you of his or her specific testing dates. Make up tests will occur as needed.
All students in Grades 3 - 8 will take one Reading Test and one Math test. MAP is a computer-adaptive test, which means every student receives a unique set of test questions based on responses to previous questions. This provides a personalized assessment experience by adapting to each student’s learning level. The purpose of the third testing session is to provide an overview of a student’s growth and achievement for the school year. Your child’s MAP Progress Report will be sent out on Friday, June 3rd.
Information regarding MAP can also be found on the District website at winnetka36.org/Page/334. If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact your principal or ITL Director Barry Rodgers.
