About the Social Justice Group-
The Church’s teachings on social justice are founded on the Gospel and have developed strongly over the last 140 years to meet the needs of a rapidly changing world and to respond to a variety of misinformed and in some cases noxious theories of politics and government. The Social Justice Council gives lay people a significant role in promoting the principles of social justice throughout the community in the hope that this awareness will help governments and public institutions adhere to right notions of justice and the common good. Other agencies such as Catholic Mission and Caritas promote social justice through education and through well-organised and on-going responses to the cries of those in need around the world.
