ACES Family Update

Honoring the Legacy of Dr. King
Hello ACES Families,
As we remember and honor Dr. King I reflect on the many years I taught about the Civil Rights Movement and the sense of disbelief my second graders always displayed when they learned that there was a time when children were not allowed to play together because of the color of their skin. In my nearly thirty years on base, Eielson has always been a community where all are accepting and there is a sense of shared purpose that permeates the atmosphere.
We here at ACES are grateful to work and live in a community where children are encouraged to have friends from all backgrounds. Empathy and kindness are values that we teach daily. At times children may make unkind comments to one another and we take these seriously. Please keep encouraging your children to be accepting and kind to others.
Take care and I will see you in the car line!
