A Message from Mr. Cass
With November upon us, I usually do, No Shave November to raise awareness to Men’s health issues. I've been doing this the past 4 years and I have donated money to a Cancer research group. This year I thought it would be great to get our school involved to raise awareness not just to men's health issues but also to all Cancer’s, especially Pediatric as one of our students (Oliva Hart) is going through this right now. I am offering my hair as bounty, if we can raise $500. I am sure we will be able to get beyond that goal. Half of the money will go to help offset expenses that the family has to endure for traveling and the other half will go to the hospital Olivia is getting treatment from for Pediatric cancer research. If you would like to donate, there will be a container in the main office and if you would like to send in a check, you can make it out to Monomoy Regional School District for the Cancer fundraiser.
thank you!

Animal Welfare Club battles Animal Cruelty
Over the past nine weeks, Massachusetts has embarked on a historic campaign to help end animal cruelty. Our MRHS Animal Welfare Club and staff members at MRHS helped to collect signatures for the "Citizens for Farm Animal Protection" coalition. The coalition, along with countless advocates across the state, worked tirelessly to ensure that over 95,000 signatures were collected to qualify a measure for the 2016 ballot that would curb the extreme confinement and lifelong immobilization of animals at industrial-style factory farms in Massachusetts. The hard work of ASPCA, IFAW, MSPCA, HSUS, and other volunteers, advocates and their partners made it possible to reach and surpass this ambitious goal in just two months, and proved just how much people value the humane treatment of animals!
Hopefully the other states in our country will follow!
