From the desk of Dr. Ricks
Spring has sprung! We are looking forward to the 4th 9 Weeks, Spring Break, spring sports, class trips and programs, and those transformative, celebratory traditions that only GES has to offer.
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed to the Annual Fund and Gala. I know that people get tired of fundraising, but I cannot tell you enough about how important it is. I also want to let you know how thankful I am at your generosity in raising the paddle for increased security of our school. Next week, Sheriff Captain R. Bacle with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff Department, who is the head of security inspections for schools and businesses, will visit our campus. He will come a second time to train our faculty/staff in safety drills and protocol.
Be on the lookout for Spring Conference schedules. Our Spring Conferences are student-led, so it is important that you connect with your child's teachers about a meeting time. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to take ownership of their progress and articulate to you how they see themselves as learners.
Have a great weekend,
Dr. Ricks
