A Message from Principal Jackson

Hello Miner Families,

We are less than two weeks from the opening of school! While we all wish we could see our students in person, we understand the current situation and need to ensure that everyone remains safe.

The 20-21 school year will begin for students in K-5 on August 31st and for our ECE (PK3/PK4) students on September 3rd. We are awaiting the delivery of technology from DCPS and once that is received we will schedule for families in need to pick up devices.

I want to also sincerely thank the leaders of the Equity Teams Solidarity Committee for all of their hard work in planning and executing our Black Lives Matter March! Despite the rain we had an amazing turnout thanks to their hard work! Thank you to all of the families who showed up to support.

If your student is in need of technology and you did not complete the survey previously please email Principal Jackson at bruce.jackson@k12.dc.gov as soon as possible.

Below are drafts of the student schedules for SY 20-21. I will be hosting a Townhall discussion to answer more questions both on Friday of this week and Tuesday of next week. The links for those opportunities will be send via blackboard to families.
