Kinder Review

Literacy Corner

This week we learned a new sight word for the week while still reviewing all letters of the alphabet. Our theme for the week was plants. We learned the life cycle and parts of a plant. We read books and watched educational videos on BrainpopJr. The students did well taking in all the information learned about plants. To show their knowledge, the each created their own plant with each part labeled. I enjoyed seeing their works of art.

Next week we will learn new sight words, with our theme being related to mothers. We will also begin assessing for 4th quarter. It's hard to believe school will be over soon.

Math Lab

This week we completed stations that focused on numbers, greater than and less than, addition and shapes. The students did a great job on their rotations. Please review the skills at home with your child.

Next week we will continue to work on other math skills taught this year.

Parental FYI...

Parents, we have five weeks left of school and every day must count. Instructional time is very important, and when the teacher in relaying information to the class, no one should talk. It can be very distracting. Spring fever is here and all the students can think of nothing but summer vacation. Please remind your child and help them to follow the expectations for our school and classroom.

Please remember to turn in your child's spring pictures. They are needed to us ASAP. If you would like to purchase any of the pictures in the package, please keep them and send the money and unwanted pictures back to school in the original packaging. Thank you!

Please view the video below. It gives you some great information about Camp Invention which will be held at Rocky River this summer. This camp allows your child to work with other students, exploring their creative side and having fun in the process. This camp allows your child to continue to work on their reading, math and science skills without stress. It is a great camp to be involved in. I have worked the camp for the past two years and will be there again this year. Check it out...
