On February 3, graduating senior student athletes from Otselic Valley Central School were recognized for their achievement and dedication to athletics at OV. Presentations by coaches and advisors honored Megan, Macey, Amber, Fran, Hunter, and their parents. You will be missed!

Megan Hotaling

Megan is a new member to the cheer squad this year. She enthusiastically took on this adventure, pushing herself to do her best each and every day. Megan was motivated to learn all the sideline cheers, crowd cheers, half-time routines and dance routines, all along the way with a smile on her face. Megan's upbeat, positive attitude has been a wonderful addition to this year's cheer squad. Thank you, Megan, for your efforts and your dedication. -- Mrs. Ross

PARENTS: Brad and Dawn Hotaling

Macey Rawson

Macey has been on the Varsity squad for three years and is one of this year's captains. Her natural leadership abilities have been an integral part in keeping the squad running smoothly and giving Ms. Ross some much needed sanity. Macey has balanced many responsibilities this season on top of her commitment to cheerleading and it has not gone unnoticed. To say she will be missed is an understatement. Thank you, Macey, for your dedication and enthusiasm. -- Ms. Ross

PARENTS: Lisa Meehan and Eric Rawson

Amber Thornton

Also known as Amber T., Amber has grown from a shy, timid, quiet girl who would hang her head, with hair hanging over her eyes as her cover so she wouldn't have to look at the person speaking to her, to a young lady who will look you in the eye and now give you honest, thoughtful responses to questions asked of her. She has grown from a player who struggled to get playing time to one who now is a regular in the starting lineup. Amber will continue her education at SUNY Morrisville with a major in Nursing. Thank you Amber T., for the time you have put into basketball and spent contributing to our "Lady Viking" team. -- Coach Hills

PARENTS: Kelly and Steve Moyer

Francesca Cortez

Also known as Fran or Captain Cortez, Fran is a two-year starter on our basketball team, with her strength being her leadership and defense. She has developed into a consistent player who gives her all in games and demonstrates a willingness to offer a helping hand to teammates in need of assistance, whether personal or basketball related. Fran keeps a very busy daily schedule, from her involvement in our school musical and plays, college courses, band/chorus, and her animals at home. Fran will continue her education at SUNY Morrisville with a major in Psychology. Thank you, Fran, for your kind, thoughtful acts and contributions to the "Lady Viking" team. -- Coach Hills

PARENT: Abigail Cortez

Hunter Mills

This year was both a basketball challenge and opportunity for Hunter. Along with junior Jordan Baerga, Hunter played for Hamilton Central School when OV didn't have enough players to field a Boys' Varsity team. Hunter, and Jordan with him, made OV very proud by their terrific playing, adaptability, and willingness to try something new. It is a credit to Hunter and to Hamilton that Coach Lepage and members of their Varsity team attended OV's Senior Recognition night to honor Hunter.

Having Hunter on our team this year has been invaluable. He brings a toughness and attitude that we have not had in the past. His dedication to his team is shown on a daily basis through practice and his play during games. Often outsized, he is never outworked. He is one of the most physical, selfless, hardworking players I have ever had the pleasure of coaching. Students and staff of Otselic Valley should be proud of the way he has represented their school in his efforts at Hamilton. Thank you, Hunter. -- Coach Lepage

PARENTS: Beth and Ray Mills
