Great Catches!
- Kudos for Mitch Roubidoux and Nik Albrecht: mother and patient says "they are a great team". Way to go!
- "I had to make an unexpected visit to Quickcare on a Sunday. The waiting room was busy and I knew that it would be a long wait. When I finally made it back to see a provider, Nikolaus greeted me kindly and apologized for the wait. He was efficient at his check in process. I felt bad for coming in on a Sunday and he reassured me that it wasn't a problem. That took some of the added pressure off of me and I appreciated that. He was kind and did everything with a smile. Dr. Jones came in after Nikolaus and he was great. I appreciated him taking the time to answer my questions even though I knew he was busy. Nikolaus and Dr. Jones made my visit pleasant even though that was the last place I wanted to be. Thank you."

Happy Fall Ya’ll! I hope everyone has been able to get out and about to enjoy the beautiful fall colors. I wanted to communicate some information about upcoming fall events with our entire Gritman family. However, before I share event information, I want to tell a story I heard last week that relates to our Gritman events. It profoundly hit close to home and I am excited to share it with ya’ll today.
As we go into the Holiday season, I believe that we all can relate to this season being one of gifts and presents. While the words ‘gift’ and ‘present’ are often used interchangeably, they do actually have some differences in meaning and usage. A ‘gift’ is something that an individual gives to another as a token of appreciation, love, or affection whereas a ‘present’ is given in order to celebrate an occasion or to show recognition. The word ‘gift’ comes from the old Germanic root for ‘to give’, while the word ‘present’ comes from the French word for ‘to present’. When we gift something to others, it is something that we choose for them to have. In contrast, a present to another would be something that is selected specifically for the individual based upon their preferences.
More simply, a gift would be something that we would want to give to another whereas a present would be something that another would want to receive! Let me explain. Take a moment and think of your favorite sports team, your favorite color, and your favorite snack. If you were to receive a coffee cup with your favorite sports team logo, in your favorite color, and filled with your favorite snack – that would be a present. However, if I were to gift you a cup with my favorite sports team (the Pittsburgh Steelers) in my favorite color (Blue) and filled with my favorite snack (Jalapeno Cheetos!) my ‘gift’ might not mean as much to you.
For the last few years, Gritman has been GIFTING Holiday pies to our Gritman team. Selections were based upon what we could order and many times employees felt they had to pick from what was left. This year, the rewards and recognition team is working with a local MOSCOW baker and we would like to offer a PRESENT. Staff will be able to select their pie flavor and even select a gluten free option. Please click HERE or scan the QR code to let us know what you prefer for your PIE present this year before October 31st! We are very excited to be able to consider what works best for you and your family as our organization focuses in on your preferences. Honestly, I can’t think of a better explanation of what makes Gritman so special and unique as an organization and an employer. This is our Gritman Way in action.
