Eagle Point School Board Votes to Table New Bond Proposal

The Eagle Point School District 9 School Board voted to table the $48 million bond proposal for the upcoming 2022 November ballot during the July 20th public meeting. The vote came after months of research, discussion, and communication with the EPSD9 Facilities Committee and the greater community.

The EPSD9 Facilities Committee sent out a survey in February to gather community input about the conditions of EPSD9 schools and the renewal of a bond for District 9. A follow-up survey by Nelson Research was also conducted in June, along with an industry evaluation of costs from ORW Architecture.

The School Board reached its decision after carefully considering the financial impact on the community and the current facility needs of District 9.

Matt Stone, Board Chair, and Emily McIntire, Board Vice Chair, were interviewed about the decision and the process. Listen here!
