We have had a fabulous past few weeks at school and beyond. It has been so exciting to see our learners returning to inter school competitions, trips and other adventures. All of these things create great memories and help our kids grow into well-rounded people. There are so many events and experiences planned for the remainder of the year, too, camp, EOTC, athletics… It feels great to be heading back to ‘normal’ with the scrapping of restrictions.
Next term, we plan to open our assemblies back up to the community - we’ll keep you posted on times and dates.
A huge thanks to Krystal and the PTA for pulling off another fabulous trivia night on the weekend. It is a massive undertaking, as this event has many moving parts. It is the biggest fundraiser for the school, and we really appreciate the number of parents who contributed and attended the night. As usual, the costumes were outstanding!
A reminder that school is closed next Monday 26th September as we commemorate the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
Netball Tournament 8th September
On Thursday the 8th of September, Chelsea took two teams to the 2022 netball tournament. Both teams won all their games by huge margins sending Chelsea to the top of the leaderboard. Even when winning all their games it was clear that Chelsea wasn’t going to be the type to brag. All Chelsea participants kept to the Chelsea DNA and showed a great amount of sportsmanship when playing. Thank you to Kate and Kirstie for the training and guidance to help us become better netball players.

Rippa Tournament 15th September
It was some people’s first time playing Rippa, and they all did great for their first time; we came in 6th place and won one game! The most important thing was that we had so much fun. We learned so much even though we didn’t go to school that day.

When we were on the bus, we were really nervous but very excited! We had only eight players, and it was the first time playing for most of us. The first games were very challenging, and it was very hot. We didn’t give up, though and came third overall.

The tournament was epic. It was filled with fun, laughter and determination, even a bit of victory celebration. But overall, the most important thing was that everyone representing Chelsea had fun. Most of the teams got top 5 placings, including both year 5/6 teams coming 5th and the year 3/4 boys coming 3rd, which was pretty impressive. But I thought the most important wasn’t our placings; it was that we showed all of our Chelsea DNA and values and made Chelsea proud.
