Parent Update

As we start our Christmas Recess, I wanted to reach out and wish families a safe, restful, and healthy holiday season. I am very thankful to work with such incredible educators, and serve the great families within our communities.

When we come back from break, Monday, January 3rd, we will have four weeks until the end of the second quarter. Moving into the last half of the year, we look forward to the work and growth ahead of us. I hope families, children, and our teachers can take this vacation as a reset to come back to the important work to be done.

As a reminder, our water fountains are still not turned on for students to drink directly from them. They do however work to refill a water bottle. To support students, we have been providing bottles of water; however, this is costly and can be wasteful. I'm asking students and families to help by having the children bring a bottle to school that they can fill it up as opposed to requiring a plastic water bottle. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

In addition to a link at the end of this paragraph, I've also added a link below for families that would like direct access to support your child's access to their school chromebook while they are at home. Having acces can allow you to limit times of use, as well as limit certain websites. This would only be for the time the chromebook is used outside of school as we monitor those things while they are using devices here on the district internet. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let me know. The link to register is here: https://bit.ly/goguardparent

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and I look forward to seeing the students back in the building on Monday, January 3, 2022. Upon our return, I look forward to continue our work with the students in practicing kindness.

Sincerely,

James A. Reilly
