Digital Citizenship Week 10/18-10/22

Throughout the week, students engaged in grade appropriate activities allowing them the opportunity to reflect on how their digital lives impact their social and emotional well-being. Games, interactive activities, videos, and multimedia challenges filled our classrooms this week as we learned to be cyber-safe.

Check out Mrs. Bowers' 5th Grade Class exploring their responsibilities as good digital citizens.

A Look Ahead to...November 🦃

We are getting ready for the holidays in the next few weeks and are excited to share our upcoming events and lessons planned for November in our North Merrick Library Media Centers!

The excitement is building and ALL students will be participating in STEAM challenges this month. Students will use a variety of technologies within the design process to identify and solve problems by creating new and useful solutions. Collaboration will be at its finest when student work together to:

  • build a hideout for their turkeys so they are not captured.
  • create a model Mayflower that will float across a specific distance.
  • design a table that will support a Thanksgiving feast of plenty.
  • assemble a mini float to be a part of our very own Grade 6 Thanksgiving Day parade.

Students will share their projects on the digital media tool, Padlet. Keep an eye out for next month's issue where we will showcase our creations!
