From Dean Elsasser

Hello, Vanguards! This week has been full of emotional moments. I was proud of our students and staff for wearing maroon and white this week in support of Uvalde students and staff as they started the new school year.

I was grateful for the opportunity to share my story of helping to clean up in New York City after 9-11. Our JROTC did a fantastic job of setting up a memorial for the lives lost in the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Thank you to the parents, community members, Mesquite Police Department, Mesquite Fire Department, and FOX for coming out to participate in our Patriot Day memorial.

We have some exciting things happening at Vanguard in the next few weeks including the kick-off of our Hispanic Heritage celebration and our first-ever Spirit Week.

Thank you for another great week, Vanguards!
