Where's My Child's Bus?
Here Comes the Bus has been replaced with Stopfinder.
The new app will continue to give parents/guardians the ability to see their student’s transportation schedule and set up GeoAlert notifications to track their student’s bus.
Stopfinder is invitation based and all parents/guardians will receive an invitation to join the service on August 19th. Should you or your office staff receive questions about Stopfinder, we have several ways to help parent/guardians.
· Refer questions to StopfinderLoudoun@lcps.org
· Information such as how to guides/videos can be found at LCPS.org/Stopfinder
· To help educate parents about the service, please share the Peachjar flyers we have: English and Spanish
Getting to School!
Walking to school:
Please practice walking to school with your child(ren) and others. You can develop a walking bus within your neighborhood. A walking school bus is a group of children walking to school with one or more adults. It can be as informal as two families taking turns walking their children to school.
Each morning we anticipate approximately 150 cars and even more on rainy days. If your child walks to school it is more healthy, better for the environment, and it saves you precious time every day. (30+ minutes)
Biking to school:
If you choose for your child to bike to school, please start preparing now. Please practice with your child: Route, Safety(Helmet), and how to park their bike school. Bike Racks are located on the side of the school closest to the water tower. Only students in the walk-zones are approved to ride their bikes to school.
Thank you for considering one or both of the above items. If you are in a bus zone please utilize this service.
Kindergarten Students - Orientation on Tuesday @1pm
KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION & TAG INFORMATION
We look forward to meeting all of our incoming kindergarten students and parents on Tuesday, August 23rd at 1:00pm. During the orientation we will provide special tags to identify your child as a kindergartener.
ONE OF THESE TAGS MUST BE ATTACHED TO YOUR STUDENT'S BACKPACK
You will receive three yellow plastic tags:
One MUST be attached to your student’s backpack
The second one MUST be used by the adult picking up the student from the bus stop, without this tag bus drivers will not dismiss students from the bus.
The third tag can be used by an older sibling who has permission to assist your KG student on getting home, or by your back up pick up person.
Using a permanent marker, please write the following information on each of the tags you have received:
Student ID (Please find it in ParentVue)
