This week was all about hearts 💕💕! We explored the shape of hearts, used different art materials, and continued learning some letters, particularly letter H for heart. We made heart relief paintings with paint dotters, which will be used for another project next week :)
We explored heart shapes that occur in nature and made hearts using interesting objects from our classroom :)
We focused on the Letter Hh (for heart) - how to make it, what it’s called, what it sounds like :)
Playdoh in the pretend center was fun - heart-shaped pretend cookies were rolled out and cut out :) Working together, sharing, and using materials to make heart shapes was great for cooperative playtime.
Miss Becky and Miss Lamira helped us act out a new story - The Jacket I Wear in the Snow - and then we reread and sequenced the story the next day!
We got to spend some great time outdoors - the sunshine and fresh air were much needed!
Back inside, some friends made ramps or slides and made all the Duplo animals slide down :)
Lots of exploration in the sand table (we hunted for letters) and in the puzzle corner :)
Future scientists explored a variety of materials at the science and building areas.
Valentine and friendship books were popular :)
The writing center was also very popular ... for making Valentine mail :)
We started doing a question of the day as part of our new circle time routine!
Thank you to Kai’s Mom for coming in to read :)
