Hunting Ridge Hawk Happenings

November 1, 2022

November Welcome

Hunting Ridge Families:

We hope that everyone enjoyed this beautiful weekend. We enjoyed a spirit week with our Hunting Ridge hawks this week that ended with a monthly celebration of Minute to Win It challenges for our students and teachers, and classroom Halloween parties. Thank you to all of the PTA parents that made our parties, Walk to School Day, and fall festival possible this month.

This month our school focused on accountability, How do my words and actions affect others? How can I use my thoughts to make positive choices? Teachers worked with classes to discuss owning their parts of a mistake, following through with what students say they will do, taking ownership for ourselves and our actions. During daily class meetings and subject areas, teachers worked with students to discuss classroom accountability. How am I holding myself accountable for a class discussion? How am I holding myself accountable for my class assignments? For using my student planner? We will build upon these important lessons in the upcoming month with our new focus.

For the month of November, we will be focusing on Situational Appropriateness and the learner characteristic of respect.

It is important to us at Hunting Ridge that we provide a community of care and support to our families, especially when faced with financial hardship. Additionally, our district may be able to connect families with needed supports outside of the school. Please do not hesitate to reach out to see if we might be able to help your family in the coming months.

Cold Weather

The weather is changing. Please make sure that students are prepared for the weather. We recommend dressing in layers that are marked with your child's name on each item. When the snow begins, students wanting to play in the snow will need boots, snow pants, and gloves. Feel free to send clothing in a bag to make it easier for kinds to place their clothing in one place. Please have your child practice putting on boots, gloves, snow pants, and zipping coats. This will help your child transition inside and outside more independently.

Missing Items? Please check our lost and found. Items that remain after Thanksgiving will be donated.

Need assistance? Please reach out to Georgie Alfano at 847-963-5341.
