GRANDPARENTS’ DAY 2019 Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to RSVP?
We do ask all grandparents to RSVP to help us better plan for the event. Grandparents who are unable to RSVP are still very welcome! The more the merrier! Once on campus, every grandparent should check in at one of the many check in tables to pick up an information packet.
What schedule will I follow?
The schedule is outlined under the Agenda section. The check-in table will have extra copies of the schedule so everyone will know where to go. Volunteers will be available to help you find buildings and classrooms.
What should I wear?
We begin the day with mass, so church attire with comfortable walking shoes.
When and where will I meet my grandchild?
All students will follow regular arrival procedures. They must go to their homeroom at 7:45 am for attendance. Grandparents will be guided from the Commons to the exterior of the church where volunteers will be located with grade level signs. Grandparents should stand at the sign for their grade of their youngest grandchild. Grandchildren will be released from their homeroom and should plan to meet their grandparents at the sign of the youngest grandchild. Volunteers will be available to help grandparents and grandchildren find seats in the church.
When does Grandparents’ Day start?
Coffee is available from 7:15am-7:40 am in the Commons. School Administration will welcome grandparents at 7:40 am in the Commons. Mass begins at 8:00 am and is the official start of Grandparents’ Day.
What if I am visiting more than one child?
New and Improved! You will travel as a group. See above about where to meet your grandchild(ren).
Where can I park?
Valet will be available for you FREE OF CHARGE. For Valet, please enter off Inwood Road near the Parish Commons. For Self Park, please use the Harvest Hill Parking Lot
What will happen at Grandparents’ Day?
Grandparents’ Day is a wonderful way to see your grandchild’s school, meet their teacher, take pictures with your grandchild, visit our book fair, and even play bingo!
Can I take my grandchild home at the end of the day?
Yes, your grandchild can go home with you. How fun! We ask that you sign your grandchild out with either their teacher, at the valet stand or at the greeter area at the front of school
What if I can’t take my grandchild home?
Your grandchild will need to return to their homeroom. They will go home through regular dismissal at 11am.
