Dear Monte Vista Families

We had a fantastic start to the school year. Wednesday was our first schoolwide assembly where we sang the Monte Vista song. Thursday, the whole school wrote to the prompt, Monte Vista Proud. And Friday, there was a school scavenger hunt that introduced students to the new staff on campus. Thank you to Deb McCampbell for organizing the activities!

Back to School Night

Join us on Tuesday, August 23rd for Monte Vista's Back to School Night. Please check the flyer above for the times for each grade level. We are also offering Spanish translation services for each of the grade levels in the multipurpose room at the opposite time and your teacher's assigned time. For example, if your child is in 1st grade, you may attend the teacher presentation at 5:30 and the translation will be available at 6:35.

Noon Duties Needed

This is a wonderful opportunity to maintain a safe and positive environment at Monte Vista. This position is 10 hours a week, 11:15-1:15 daily. Please contact Rachel Galdamez if you are interested in being a noon duty. rachel_galdamez@crpusd.org or (707) 792-4531 Apply HERE

Para Professionals Needed

One of the most rewarding ways to work with students is to support a Special Education classroom under the direction and supervision of the teacher. There are two positions open for Special Day Class (SDC) K-2 aides, and one position open in SDC 3-5. Apply HERE.

Join the School Site Council (SSC)

Parent representatives are needed to join the Site Council to help create the Single Site Plan for Student Achievement. This is where we set goals for the school, create an action plan, and look at data to measure our progress toward the goals. The meetings are at 3:15 once a month via Google Meet. Email Principal Galdamez if you are able to be on Site Council. rachel_galdamez@crpusd.org

Join the English Language Acquisition Committee (ELAC)

This group is for families whose home language is other than English. We review the reclassification process and how to help your student achieve proficiency in English. We will also cover a variety of topics based on parent interest. This meeting will be hybrid, virtual and in person and the links will be posted in the flyer and on the MV Family Calendar.

Join the Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

The parent teacher association meets monthly to plan family fun events, organize fundraising, and decide how the money should be spent on students.
