Lapathon
The Lapathon held last Friday was a huge success! The children had a wonderful afternoon of fun completing their laps and also taking part in the novelty race. They finished up their run with a refreshing icy pole. What a fun way to start the weekend!
We would just like to thank our parent and P&F Volunteers who assisted with preparation before and on the day.
Now we ask all our families to collect their pledges and send their donations into their class rooms (please clearly mark Cash payments in an envelope, child’s name and class) or use the EFT direct transfer information on the forms (again please include your child’s name and class details as the ref). Please return payments by Tuesday 17th of August so tickets for the prize draw can be prepared for assembly on Friday 20th August.
All money raised from the Lapathon goes towards a donation to Lifelink and stage 3 of our playground. Stage 1&2, is currently under construction on the top oval.
Thank you HR community, you are wonderful!
New Playground Update
The playground is off to a great start sparking a whole lot of interest and excitement.
The double decker tree-house fort and spiderman web climbing wall are well underway. Tim and his team have knuckled down and are building at an amazing pace.
We also have some fantastic news to share! Due to the hard work Bec Watson put in – The Variety group have granted us a $9000 contribution toward the build of a wheel chair accessible ramp to the fort and an inclusive flying fox chair. The timing of the grant was spot on and Tim managed to incorporate the ‘phase 2’ build into ‘phase 1 with footings already laid.
It’s beautiful to think all our children will now be able to access the different sections this amazing playground has to offer. Pending the arrival of some materials we hope to see completion of phase 1 and 2 in approx. 3-4 weeks.
Phase 3 is the final stage – a huge tubular slide from the top level of the fort to challenge all. Make sure you get your Lapathon money in – every cent counts.
HELP NEEDED - We are still in need of 2 main items to finish the playground:
- Retaining – roughly 10m in length for a depth grading from 0.5m to 1m. Panel and Post.
- Logs to create a border – roughly 500mm diameter. Anyone know a tree lopper/council connections?
Please contact Asha ASAP if you can help with either of these things – asha@integrateddist.com.au
DONATIONS:
If you would like to donate to the playground and help its completion whilst leaving a little bit of your family at the school for years to come, please contact asha@integrateddist.com.au.
We aim to recognise worthy donations through correspondence, social media and on custom signage near the playground area. Business donations can also be made.
Thank you!
