This week we read the story Half Chicken. This text is a traditional Mexican folktale about a weather vane and how they came to be. We focused on cause and effect and learned about point of view. You should ask them about the story of Half Chicken and why most weather vanes look like half chickens!

Writing

We began another opinion writing about making the earth a better place. We have been talking a lot this month about Earth Day and protecting the environment and will continue to expand on that. Some of our friends wrote about conserving our resources while others wrote about being kind to other people. We will finish these up next week!
