Technology Tools For The Classroom
Ms. Carter's 4th Grade Class! Get connected with us!
I invite you to get connected with us, and check out how your child will be using technology within our classroom!
In our fourth grade science classroom we will be using a variety of technology tools throughout the school year! Technology is a great way in which your child can learn core content, think critically, become tech. savvy, and be creative all at the same time. Just to keep you in touch with everything that we do throughout the year, here are a few technology tools that we will be using in the classroom. I hope these are helpful, and if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me!
Remind
Remind is an awesome app that allows parents, students, and teachers to communicate easily with one another. The best part about this app is that it is free and user friendly! I will send out reminders about homework, projects, field trips, school related functions, etc. throughout the school year using this app. School can be hectic at times, so I encourage all parents and students to download this app. You and your child can stay up-to-date on everything that is going on and never miss a beat!
Kahoot!
Kahoot! is a review tool that will be used within the classroom to assess students knowledge and learning of our science content. Kahoot! is a fun competitive way to involve learning. There are games and quizzes your child will be able to take. The best part about this tool is that students do not even realize they are learning. They are racing against their peers while playing these games or taking these quizzes so they see it as being a competition. While teachers love it because it engages our students in learning and gets everyone involved!
Prezi
Prezi is an wonderful presentation tool that we will be incorporating into our learning. This tool is user friendly to teachers, as well as students. Students are more likely to remember something if it grabbed their attention and stood out to them. Prezi has strong visuals and zooms in and out, which carries the students on a ride while they learn. By using prezi your children will be making presentations, as well as watching one that I have made. When they make their own the layout is very simple. They choose a layout, add graphics, animation, etc. and have fun while creating it. They will then present their presentations to the class. This helps your child build their social skills, and also helps their self-confidence. I am already looking forward to seeing you child blossom, grow, and learn when using this tool!
