'Tis the Season for Many Lights

Mr. B's Lights Burn Brightly Each and Every Day at School

Our PTO and All of our Volunteers Set the Standard for WOW!

I wanted to take a moment and give thanks to our exceptional Merton Community School District volunteer community.

Your generous spirit and belief in our mission shines through in the volunteer support throughout our organization. Over the next few days, please take a moment to pause and honor your contributions to our Primary and Intermediate Schools. Your actions are what makes our schools such special places to learn, work, and play.

Schools that Have Learned about Your Generosity

Your generosity has found its way to the hands and hearts of 3 schools affected by the flood of last August. LaFarge Elementary, and 2 Reedsburg schools-Pine View and West Side-have received $866 each because of the coins that were brought in a couple of weeks ago. The money will go directly to book purchasing for all 3 schools. Below are examples of the thank you's we have received. I will be sharing these at the December assembly. The children and staff are so very grateful.

We Rocked the Drill!

Today, our children and staff evacuated the school for our monthly fire drill in 59 seconds! Yep, under a minute! With our maintenance staff and Mrs. Smith at the helm, we cleared the building and accounted for every child using our reporting system. I am so PROUD of all of our school community for making this happen for the safety of all.

Student Art Work is Amazing

We are fortunate to walk the halls of our school everyday and see the work of our children displayed by Dawn Fernandez, our first year art teacher for grades 5K-grade 3. Here are a couple of photos of the work from our children. Mrs. Fernandez tries to have the children connect with their art work, and have it meaningful for them. The results? Well take a look here, and when you visit school.

4K Family Social Was Terrific! Don't they look amazing!

Below is our 4K class of 2032-yep they will graduate in 2032 with pomp and circumstance. Last night, with family and friends to support them, our wonderful students said the Pledge and sang some golden oldies for the audience. Thanks to our 4K team of teachers and IA's who make this all happen. Thanks families for the delicious treats that you shared for the gathering afterwards.

Community Giving Tree

“To give love is to have it returned to you.” That’s what it means to be part of the Community Caring tree. Holiday wishes or needs are noted on gift tags and placed on the tree located in front of the Intermediate School office. Those who wish to participate remove a tag, purchase the desired gift, wrap it and affix the tag to the package and then return the gift to the school. The gifts are then sorted and distributed to families in our community. The community giving trees are on display in the main entrance of the Primary School now. Wrapped gifts are due in the office by Friday, December 14th.

The giving trees still have tags for food or gifts. Thank you for your kind consideration in this effort.
