As the calendar changes to October, it indicates that we are halfway through the first marking period. At the beginning of the year, it takes a few weeks for teachers to post grades, as the first weeks are mainly spent on relationship building and setting routines, procedures, and expectations. Grades are now posted on Skyward and you can track your child's progress. This is the time to have conversations about good study habits and getting all assignments turned in, as there is still enough time prior to the end of the marking period to improve grades (academic and citizenship). We appreciate your partnership in educating your Husky! Dare to be remarkable!

September 19

September 19th was International Talk Like a Pirate Day! Mrs. Melero's class celebrated in style along with Mr. Bushon!

The students and staff are still very hard at work getting this year off to a great start! Discussions regarding the curriculum are occurring daily and we as a staff continue to look for new and innovative ways to educate every child at Holly Academy.

Our math department has added a new math teacher to the middle school. Welcome, Mr. Nugent! He comes to HA with 14 years of experience teaching math and is already working hard to develop relationships with the students and staff. If you get a chance, stop by and say hello. Please remember that if you have questions or concerns about the curriculum, please email me at kiddc@hollyacademy.org.

The science department will be meeting with grades K-8 to discuss our new curriculum, Exploring Science partnered with CENGAGE and National Geographic. These meetings are scheduled to ensure we are teaching the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and getting the most out of this new curriculum.
