Structure of an Expository Essay
Hook- Broad general statement that will get the reader's attention
Bridge-Narrow down the topic and give background information
Thesis- Tell the reader what the essay is about, state an opinion and provide three reasons you can expand upon.

Conclusion
The Thesis Statement is the controlling idea
It is a road map for your reader and it will help your organize your paper.
