Early Requirements
If you want to become an ophthalmologist, you're gonna have to complete a four year bachelor's degree program, four years of medical school, and on top of all of this 3-8 years of interning and residencies. To practice ophthalmology, you will need a state license. This field requires proficiency in physics and math skills.
Daily Activities
Ophthalmologists examine patient's eyes, looking for vision problems, common ones being macular degeneration, glaucoma, and cataracts. These doctors will either prescribe corrective lenses or perform surgery to fix the problem. Ophthalmologists often send samples to labs in order to make conclusions on patient's diseases.
