What is Copyright?
Copyright is the collection of rights granted to the author.
Public Domain
A public domain is a license that has expired, been created with public money or has been donated and it is not protected by law. You can do whatever you want with it.
Ex: Shakespeare
Freeware
Copyrighted work that is given away for free. You can use it however you want.
Ex: iTunes, Safari
Shareware
Shareware is a free trial of something for a certain amount of time. After that, if you want it permanently, there is a fee.
Ex: Lite apps
All Rights Reserved
This is the most restricted of the licenses but the most common. It is used by a purchaser according to exact details of license agreement.
Ex: Movies, video games etc.
Open Source
This is software that comes with a source code with the idea that people can make it better.
Ex: Chrome and Firefox
