Dear Robert Hunter families,
We had another great week at RH!
We are gearing up for an extra special spirit day on Jan. 27th with some STEM challenges. We will be using cereal boxes to create a school-wide cereal box “domino” chain in our hallways, and students will be creating sculptures with cans. We will then “give back” as we donate these items to the Flemington Food Pantry. This will be connected with our celebration of the Great Kindness Challenge, which we will be sharing more information about in our upcoming newsletter. Please help us in collecting cereal boxes and cans! See the flyer below that is also posted on Virtual Backpack!
We do not have school on Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. If you are home with your children, we encourage you to talk about the significance of the day and make it a day of service.
Have a great week!
Warm regards,
Jessica Braynor and Lindsay Shirvanian

The 4th Grade Chorus will be performing a winter concert at Robert Hunter on Jan. 19th at 7:00. Participating students will need to report to the music room at 6:30. If you would like your child to participate in the winter concert, please complete the permission slip sent home with your child (You can also access it here). 4th Graders will also be performing for all RH students at 2:45 on Jan. 19th. Families who are unable to attend the evening concert may join the afternoon performance; you will need to contact the office by Jan. 17th to make that arrangement.
MAP Growth Assessment
This week, students will be taking the district’s MAP Growth assessment again. At RH, students will take the assessment on Jan. 17 and 18th. Your child will be administered the computer-based assessment during his/her regularly scheduled English Language Arts and Mathematics classes. The results of the assessment will be compared to the students’ fall data to determine individual growth and instructional focus areas. Continue to communicate with your child’s teachers about their learning goals and how you can support learning at home.
