College and Career Exploration Workshop This Wednesday!
You are invited to join us THIS WEDNESDAY to learn more about Xello!
Xello is a free web program that provides you (the student) surveys to determine interests, skill sets, learning styles, etc, then suggests careers you would be good at. It also determines colleges/universities which have majors in those fields, workforce data including salaries, demand/need for that industry of labor, etc.
Xello keeps your results and data after graduation, so you are able to continue using it to determine careers after community college or applying to universities. Xello also helps you build your resumes/portfolios.

Tips for Freshmen:
Xello keeps your results and data after graduation, so in college, which you are able to use to determine careers after community college or applying to universities. Xello also helps you build your resumes/portfolios.
This is a great tool for our students to learn more about what careers are a match for them after taking career assessments, etc.
Here is the link to the Zoom meeting for that day: https://tinyurl.com/hooverxello.
Healthy Kids Survey:
Reminder to complete the California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS). The survey will open on Monday, November 9th, and close on November 30th. The survey link has been posted on Ms. Iraheta's Class of 2024 Google Classroom.
Read this week's Tips of the Week:
Academics: Do homework as soon as you’re out of class to get it out of the way. Do not wait till night time to start your work. When it gets dark, sometimes negative feelings can arise, and doing homework while feeling down is not great for your mental health.
College/Career: Learn all its features on Wed. Nov. 18 from 1-2 p.m.
Xello is a new, highly engaging online program that re-imagines how students prepare for future success. Students complete interactive career, personality, and learning style assessments to help them better understand their unique interests, skills, and strengths. Each engaging assessment encourages reflection, helping students connect who they are with relevant career options. Here is the link to Xello https://xello.world/en/
Social/Emotional: Take some time out of your day to talk with a friend or somebody. Also, reach out to your counselor or staff members that you trust about your feelings, and attend the Armenia support group.
