Christmas Tree
It's the most WONDERFUL time of the year!!! We have a Christmas tree in our fifth grade neighborhood. We would like for students to bring in ornaments to help us decorate our tree. We ask that the ornament NOT be fragile or one that is sentimental in some way. We would hate for something to happen to a special family ornament. Students need to have their name somewhere on the ornament. Thanks for your help with this!!
Literacy
Social Studies- Reeves Homeroom
Math
This week in math, students will multiply fractions and mixed numbers by fractions, fractions by fractions, and mixed numbers by mixed numbers. Students will still be using picture representations this week in order to solve problems. Students will also be taught the strategy of using an array to multiply two fractions.
Science- Mohler Homeroom
This week students are going to be investigating the affects of mass and distance on gravity. They will be doing a hands-on activity, watching videos, and examining claims about mass and distance affecting gravity in order to learn this content. Class participation is key this week and classwork will be used for grades.
Learning Target: I can engage in an argument from evidence in order to show how the relationship of mass and distance affect gravity.
I can highlight the cause and effect relationship of the two factors (mass and distance).
