A Note From The Principal

Greetings Smith Families,

Such a busy October!

Thank you to everyone that participated in Walk to School Day. It was wonderful having Helena High students join our students for the special morning! Thank you to PSS for the special treats and stickers.

Tailgate was a huge success. It was great to see so many families out on such a beautiful night to enjoy hot dogs and Bengal football!

Our paras have been organizing "Special Events" on Tuesdays during all school recess. To teach students different activities they may not normally play.

Thank you to all the donations for Hurricane victims that Mrs. Wright was able to take down to Florida. Delta checked it all through for free!

Raise Craze is once again turning out to be a HUGE success! 5 days to go! Please check out the leaderboard with the latest results. Kindergarten earned gym with Mrs. Simpson and next week I get to join Lower Montessori and 1st grade in gym:). Multiple grades have earned extra recess as well. https://my.raisecraze.com/leaderboard/for/A8WYVBP/

It is truly wonderful to see each and every student in school everyday! Thanks for sharing:)

It's a great day to be a Smith Saber!

Winter Weather

Winter weather is here. Students will go outside 3 times a day. Please make sure they are dressed ready for the cold. If you need any assistance please contact the office or see Mrs. Fred's message. Make sure to have everything labeled that comes to school.

Arrival and Dismissal

Just a reminder to drive slow in our school zones at all times. We have many adults and students walking through parking lots and safety needs to be everyone's top priority. It is great to have so many students walk or parents park and come to the playground to pick up your student at dismissal; this helps with the congestion. If you need to use the car line just a reminder to not park and wait until dismissal time (Monday 2:30 and Tuesday-Friday 3:15).

Lunchroom

It has been great to see parents joining their students during lunchtime. You may bring your own lunch or parents can pay for a meal or parents are allowed 1 free meal a month. Please make sure to sign in at the front office and get a visitor badge.

Please see the link for more information or links to sign up for meal pay.

Playground

Students should not bring toys from home to play with on the playground. If students bring toys out onto the playground and a staff member takes it a parent will need to come to the office to get it back.

Halloween

Be on the look out for communication from your child(s) teacher in regards to Halloween celebrations.
