MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Dear Clemson Elementary School Families,

We hope that you are enjoying the start of this holiday season. We had a fun November which included once again, our beloved Veteran's Day Program. Our fifth graders along with the Clemson Elementary Chorus led the program with songs and information about our US Armed Forces. We also enjoyed celebrating Thanksgiving and learning about the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with the first graders.

Our school continues to focus on excellence in academics. We have been awarded the Monthly DreamBox Mathematician Award for the highest growth and usage. We also have had the privilege of having the Clemson University Engineering Department conduct science and engineering activities with some of our third, fourth and fifth graders.

Coming up in December, our Chorus will host a holiday concert here at Clemson Elementary and will sing at Tillman Hall Auditorium on Clemson University's campus. We will have a winter break starting after our early dismissal on Friday, December 16. School will resume on Tuesday, January 3.

As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns. We will continue to update you through classroom communications, our newsletter, social media and via our website.

Thank you for all you do to help us make everyday a great day to learn. Have a happy and safe holiday season.

Best Regards,

Michelle Craddock

OUR VISION

Clemson Elementary, creating a child-centered community where each student, inspired by a love of learning and rigorous educational experiences, is empowered to positively impact the global community.

YOU WERE CAUGHT!!!

Each month we recognize students who exemplify certain qualities and characteristics. In November, students who "were caught" respecting others and their differences by making positive choices were recognized. Some individuals' names were drawn from a jar of those that had been caught and enjoyed a nice lunch with Ms. Craddock. Learning independently and thinking critically is what we are looking for in December, and if your student is "caught", he/she will earn a small treat!

YEARBOOKS ARE NOW ON SALE

You may order a yearbook online through the link found under the NEWS section of our school website or by using this YEARBOOK LINK. Yearbooks cost $28 each and will be on sale until February 3, 2023. Yearbooks will be distributed at the end of the school year.

Veteran's Day Program

The Clemson Elementary Chorus and Fifth Graders led us in a phenomenal Veteran's Day program. The students sang, learned about the branches of the military and listened to the book, America's White Table.

Clemson Elementary Chorus

The Clemson Elementary Chorus is made up of fifty 4th and 5th graders who love to sing. Their first performance this year was the Veteran's Day Program. The chorus will sing at the Clemson University Old Main auditorium on December 7 and on December 12. They will have their winter concert along with the 5th grade guitar ensemble and 4th grade class. The chorus is led by Ms. Mindy Allen.

All about Science and Engineering

Dr. Fadi, a mechanical engineering professor at Clemson University, and his team of Clemson students led third, fourth, and fifth graders in an engineering exploration activity. Students used ball-and-stick kits to build models of different metals at the atomic level. They talked about how engineers use different metals in the design of new devices. From simple cubes to structures that looked like soccer balls, students explored engineering and science through hands-on activities. Dr. Fadi and his students created an engaging environment for students to see how their learning in the classroom can be used in the real world.
