Week of November 6th
Principal's Message
Hello Farragut Families,
I am so excited to join this community! I am humbled by the tremendous academic program at Farragut and the dedication of the teachers and staff to your children. I am aware that this community has faced some transitions in the recent past, and I want to assure you that stability is my focus. I want to start by re-establishing clarity around our purpose and creating a shared vision for our future.
As a parent of two young girls, I understand the trust it takes to drop off your children each morning. This is not something that I take lightly. It is my mission to make you and your children feel safe; Farragut is a place where they belong. As an elementary school teacher and principal, I have learned the importance of empowering students to take ownership of their environment. I am so excited to find students who regularly use PAWS, which lifts them up as leaders.
When I arrive on November 6th, I want to listen. I want to understand your experience thus far at the school. I look forward to being a support for all children. By all accounts, Principal Mohr has done an excellent job steering the ship, and I have been working with her to preserve all the great things she has put in place.
In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to me. I am here to ensure that your child(ren) has/have what they need to reach their full potential as a Fox.
See you soon!
Mr. Medinger

We Are So Proud
Read Alouds Matter
First-grade students grasp the significance of Social Emotional Learning. During read-aloud sessions, they gain valuable insights from characters and their interactions with the world. These students can empathize with the characters' emotions, thoughts, and actions. Often, they skillfully make connections between the text and their own experiences, honing their ability to navigate their own feelings
Daily read-alouds are crucial for children's growth as readers, thinkers, and human beings. It is a powerful tool to educate and foster compassion in classrooms and communities.
Thank you First Grade Team

Halloween 2023
Dia de Los Muertos
In third grade, students research notable people and investigate multicultural holiday celebrations to learn about their community. In October, students learn about the Day of the Dead. The Day of the Dead is a joyful traditional holiday that honors those that have passed. Traditionally, it began in Mexico, but the remembrance celebration has spread to different countries worldwide.
Understanding other cultures deepens appreciation and connection with people. It encourages you to find beauty in diversity, form meaningful connections, notice cultural nuances, ignite curiosity, and inspire ongoing learning.
- What do you find beautiful? ❤️Discover beauty in various forms.
- What connections do you make?❤️Build connections with people
- What do you notice?❤️Observe differences and similarities
- What are you wondering?❤️Spark curiosity
- What do you want to learn more about?❤️Cultivate a desire for ongoing learning.
Meal Applications
We need your help in submitting Free and Reduced Lunch Meal Applications
In order to support future funding for our district, we are asking all Farragut families to submit the Free and Reduced Lunch Meal Application.
Why is this important:
By submitting an application it can help your school with much funding for the classrooms.
If their student(s) qualify for Free or Reduced Price Meals, the household may be eligible to receive discounts on their utilities and internet services.
Their students will receive discount pricing for tests, such as ACT and SAT exams.
Increased participation in the Meal Application form district wide helps with additional, much needed funds.
