Saddle Up and Read
January 2015
Has Christmas come and gone….and left a mess behind?
Are you looking around and wondering how you will ever dig out before spring?
The beginning of a new year is often a time to set new goals and priorities. If cleaning out those bookshelves and getting rid of unused books is on your list, please read below:
We will be conducting a school-wide book swap on Friday, January 23rd. Students will be able to bring in books that they no longer want and exchange them for books that other students want to swap. This is an excellent way to get rid of unwanted books and get new-to-you books for free! All students who participate will receive $10 in cowboy cash. Please see take home folders for more details.
The month of January can be cold and snowy. What a perfect time to snuggle up with a good book! This is a great time to visit the local public library for a great selection of reading material! We encourage ALL NLA students to have their own public library card! Several students earned cowboy cash in December. It’s not too late to earn $10 in cowboy cash by showing your card to Ms. Howe. Don’t forget that our school library is open before and after school for check-out for children and parents!
